Currently Listening
Flyleaf
By Flyleaf
All Around Me
see related

I found a great song today.  It's from Flyleaf.

They are a Christian Band, and most of their

songs deal with God.  This one is focused around

God's impact in the singers life during a hard time.

This song rings true will all believers.  It is very

impactful.  A very respectable song by a very

talented group.

"All Around Me"

My hands are searching for you
My arms are outstretched towards you
I feel you on my fingertips
My tongue dances behind my lips for you

This fire rising through my being
Burning I'm not used to seeing you

I'm alive, I'm alive

I can feel you all around me
Thickening the air I'm breathing
Holding on to what I'm feeling
Savoring this heart that's healing

My hands float up above me
And you whisper you love me
And I begin to fade
Into our secret place

The music makes me sway
The angels singing say we are alone with you
I am alone and they are too with you

I'm alive, I'm alive

I can feel you all around me
Thickening the air I'm breathing
Holding on to what I'm feeling
Savoring this heart that's healing

And so I cry
The light is white
And I see you

I'm alive, I'm alive, I'm alive

I can feel you all around me
Thickening the air I'm breathing
Holding on to what I'm feeling
Savoring this heart that's healing

Take my hand
I give it to you
Now you own me
All I am
You said you would never leave me
I believe you
I believe (This is my favorite part of the song.  This is where we all need to be, and what we all must learn to say.)

I can feel you all around me
Thickening the air I'm breathing
Holding on to what I'm feeling
Savoring this heart that's healed

"All Around Me"

You should all give it a listen

It is a great song, the lyrics are

thought provoking and the

vocals add so much effect.

It is a very encouraging song.

I enjoy it, I would like you to

enjoy it as well.

Today I met a man named Fred...

It is Easter Morning, Resurrection Sunday Celebration to be more clear.  I ventured to a Presbyterian church near my home in Reading.  It was a more contemporary service than the traditional Presbyterian, and I enjoyed it.  It was the easter message, brought out in an interesting way.  More about that later.  This is the story I wish to share.

Today I met a man named Fred, and this is what that man had said:

He said, "young man, nice to meet you, my name is Fred, it's great to have you here at this church" he said.  "What is your background, from where do you come?  Ah Philadelphia Biblical... a Pastor!?.... great! the world could use some.  Young man do you know why there is so few men, in the church right now than there was back when?  It's family, and leadership that's causing the issue.  There is a lack of it now, it is sad, can you grab me a tissue?  You see when I grew up things were not as they are, my mother and father stayed home, not at the bar.  We were close you see, we had little more than each other, and when we return home from school, we would run to our mother.  Our father worked hard to keep up with bills, but to be home with us he would climb over mountains and leap over hills.  Money was difficult, trying and tight, but as long as we had each other things were alright.  I grew up, along with my brothes and sisters, the girls became Mrs. and we became Mr.'s.  Our values carried over, and our families followed suit, I'll tell you it was difficult but it sure was a hoot.  You see Christ had empowered us through the hard times back then, and I tell you now, son, I'd do it again.  It was nice to meet you young man, I hope I was no bore."  I said no sir, no sir, I'd love to hear more.

This conversation continued and I had chance to look into the life of a man who I have never met before today.  A man who was open and receptive of a stranger, in church none the less.  It was encouraging, uplifting, exciting and fun.  The minister said something today, "It's Easter, look for the last thing you expect."

Christ was the last thing the people expected.  They said "you will die? and then live?  That's crazy! Rejected!"  But Christ proved them wrong when He Resurrected.  They tried to justify the case, surely grave robbers had come.  "No way, thats ridiculous, why would they leave that cloth folded" said some.  Mary herself said "Gardener sir?"  She got more than expected when Christ spoke to her.  "Mary!" he said, as she quickly turned, Jesus had Risen she soon would learn.

Look for the last thing you expect.  Christ has Risen, he is living, the tomb was empty when checked.  He is our King, Resurrected, if we read the word carefully He is everything we could have ever expected.

How do you show someone you love them?

Be Unconditionally, Unceasingly, Unselfishly, Understandingly, and Unsparingly loving.

As Christ loved me so I shall love others.

NH GOP Pulls-out of supporting Fox NH forum taking place today.

It is now, and has been official for a day or so, that the NH GOP has pulled it's support for Fox News' Republical Presidential forum to take place later this evening.

Here is the actual article, from CNN.com:

MANCHESTER, New Hampshire (CNN) — The New Hampshire Republican Party announced Saturday that it was withdrawing as a partner of Sunday’s primary debate on FOX because of the exclusion of two GOP presidential hopefuls.

"The first-in-the-nation New Hampshire primary serves a national purpose by giving all candidates an equal opportunity on a level playing field. Only in New Hampshire do lesser known, lesser funded underdogs have a fighting chance to establish themselves as national figures,” New Hampshire Republican Party Chairman Fergus Cullen said in a statement.

“The New Hampshire Republican Party believes Congressmen Ron Paul and Duncan Hunter should be included in the FOX forum on Sunday evening. Our mutual efforts to resolve this difference have failed."

Supporters of presidential candidates Ron Paul and Duncan Hunter had complained over the exclusion of both men from Sunday night’s debate, the final faceoff before Tuesday’s primary.

–CNN's Sareena Dalla and Rebecca Sinderbrand

The reason that they pulled out was because of the refusal of Fox News to include current Presidential candidates Ron Paul and Duncan Hunter in the Forum.  All 5 of the other Republican candidates will be present.  The issue is at hand for Paul and Hunter, because this seems like a hindrance of the Democratic process, as well a hypocritical action on the account of Fox's claim of "fair and balanced."

Even further however is the fact that Fox has not given clear reasons to either candidate as to why they are not included.  They have stated that the candidates excluded did not meet the standards somehow.  They had been telling Ron Paul's campaign that he did not pull enough in the polls, but in NH he is currently polling ahead of Huckabee, Guliani, and Thompson.   His polls for the last month have been higher than Thompson, and in the Iowa Caucus, Ron Paul placed ahead of Guliani by more than double his %, and just slightly behind McCain and Thompson.    For some reason though, Thompson and Guliani are going to be present in the forum held later this evening.

This would seem to be verified as a means of censorship on Ron Paul and Duncan Hunter by Fox News.  It is not simply some conspiracy theory, but a story covered, and reported on by CNN and other major news sources.  Even Fox representitives on the Fox Network have admitted that Paul should be included.

I have to ask myself, and I encourage you to ask yourself, what is the mainstream media doing to our news, information, and democratic process and why is it being allowed to continue?

What does it mean to be "trustworthy"? Do you think you are trustworthy?

Trust:

1.reliance on the integrity, strength, ability, surety, etc., of a person or thing; confidence.

2.confident expectation of something; hope.

3.confidence in the certainty of future payment for property or goods received; credit: to sell merchandise on trust.

4.a person on whom or thing on which one relies: God is my trust.

Worth:

  1. The quality that renders something desirable, useful, or valuable: the worth of higher education.
  2. Material or market value: stocks having a worth of ten million dollars.
  3. A quantity of something that may be purchased for a specified sum or by a specified means: ten dollars' worth of natural gas; wanted their money's worth.
  4. Wealth; riches: her net worth.
  5. Quality that commands esteem or respect; merit: a person of great worth.

Worthy:

1.having adequate or great merit, character, or value: a worthy successor.

2.of commendable excellence or merit; deserving: a book worthy of praise; a person worthy to lead.

–noun

3.a person of eminent worth, merit, or position: The town worthies included two doctors.

After looking at this information in the dictionary, the words trust, worth and worthy, in order to find a more accurate definition of trustworthy, it would appear that trustworthy obviously means that one is "worthy of trust."  They have character and integrity, principles and values, actions and attitudes that make it worth your trust.  Of course this would also describe a great deal of worth to that particular person, since a lot of definition for worth or worthy deals with monetary value as well.

What is in question here is the value of the person to a sense, are they worth your trust or are they not worth your trust.  Do you "buy" what they are "selling", is their character and integrity a "worthy product?"

A lot of people will say, "Yes I am trustworthy!" I would tend to say otherwise.  I would like people to trust me, and I hope people trust me because I try to be a person that someone else can trust, that is worth someone elses trust, but I also realize that I fall short on a daily basis.  It is difficult to say about oneself that they are trustworthy.  Think about it this way, if someone buys a product, they want it to be worth the price the person paid for it.  If the product is described to work, but only sometimes works, that is not going to be a worthy product of that price to the most worth that it could be.  People are the same way.  I know that I will not work effectively in the category of trust all the time.  I will not be worthy of the trust all the time.

I don't think I am trustworthy I suppose.  I want to be trusted, and I would encourage you to trust me, just not to deem me trustworthy.  I am not worthy of really anything, nor can I say that I am.

If you really want someone trustworthy I would encourage you to stick with one of the previous illustrations in the definition of trust, you know the one that said "My trust is in God."

God is trustworthy, men are not. God's trust cannot be bought and sold, mens trust can be bought and sold.  Trustworthy is a standard for God, trustworthy for men is, unfortunately, a choice that when chosen still cannot be completely enacted to the fullest "worth."
